"LA NUEVA POLITICA"
The New Politics in Latin America

Political activity in Argentina and throughout Latin America is going through a crisis, and is being strongly questioned by public opinion. At the same time, there is no desire to return to athoritarian regimes, as well as a clear conscience that politics is necessary to live in society. Therefore, we need a new politics, one that leaves behind the vices of the old politics; but without ignoring the lessons that have been learnt at high cost.

In this context, we have decided to dedicate our Annual Seminar on Political Communications to the new politics of Latin America "La Nueva Política", thus providing a technical, constructive setting in which the new players can come together.

We aim, on one hand, to bring together "the new ones who are not politicians"; meaning those who have decided to join political activity to renovate it, but who at the same time recongnize that they have a lot to learn in order to prevent their ending up reinventing the wheel.

On the other hand, this seminar invites "the politicians who are not new", but who recognize their need of renewal in order to continue to excercise their calling.

As usual, the seminar is especially aimed at consultants, journalists, academicians, publicists, pollsters and other other practitioners of politics of the political activity, as well as politicians, candidates and public officials.

The New Politics will be of particular interest to businessmen and corporations which, even though not searching for direct participation in political activity, want to gain a deeper knowledge about the new political -and consequently economic and social- environment in which they will be doing business in the years to come.

The event will take place at the Argentine Catholic University (UCA), on July 22nd and 23rd, 2002. As usual, Campaigns & Elections Magazine, ALACOP and other Institutions support us.
